Hailing from the great Pacific Northwest with its wealth of musical artistry, Christopher Worth moves center stage in another fantastic chapter of the region's musical evolution. 

 

An Oregon native, Worth’s voice carries both the rawness of a street corner and the romance of forgotten times.  He first forged his sound - what he calls bohemian blues -  busking across the U.S. and Europe, shaping a style that blends folk, soul, and R&B into something unmistakably his own.

 

His latest record, Levity (released November 14), was recorded live over three days at his Portland home studio, The Rhududu.  The album brings together a cast of collaborators from Greaterkind, Bizarre Star Strings, MarchFourth, High Step Society, along with longtime creative partners David Jacobs-Strain and Acoustic Minds.  With minimal overdubs, the sessions captured something raw: music that feels immediate, vulnerable, and alive.

Levity moves between styles without settling in one place, held together by melody, poetic and philosophical lyricism, and the weight of Worth’s voice.  The result is a record that feels both expansive and intimate, old and new at once, as if untethered from time.  While it contains various singles and soundbites, the album is built for immersion, revealing itself fully only when experienced as a whole.

This release marks a turning point.  After completing The Identity Triptych—a three-album heroes journey of self-discovery, romance, and transcendence—and Xavanadu with his side project Worth & Strain, Christopher has arrived at something more direct, more subtle, and more profound.

 

Still something of a hidden gem, Levity has begun to ripple through the West Coast underground—quietly finding its way from one listener to the next, the kind of record that opens a door and pulls you all the way in.
